Chesham Cricket Club News story

Massive win for 1sts, 3rds and 4ths win too, 2nds don't!

31 Aug 2017

Chesham still have hopes of promotion to Div I of the HC League following a comfortable victory by 152 runs over fellow hopefuls Datchet. Chesham  batted first and began with an opening half century partnership between Matt Rance (73) and Alex Morgan  (14) followed by a fluent 27 by Luke Webb. Jason Rance (69) then joined his brother in a century stand following which there was a mini collapse before a quick fire innings of 38 by Pip France enabled the team to total 283. Datchet skipper Chris Peploe (3 for 30) taking an almost unnoticed hat trick in the 50th over.
In reply Datchet, after an early break through by Alex Watson, lost wickets at regular intervals, particularly to Jason Rance (3 for 18) and Pip France (3 for 19). Only a few hits by the tail enabled Datchet to total 131 before their dismissal in the 34th over.To gain promotion Chesham must win their final match at Buckingham and need Thame to lose against leaders Aston Rowant.

The 3rds also had a great win with 70's for Mo and Luke Dawson, whilst ben Sergeant took 6 wickets, whilst the 4ths won too with Waqas scoring 80 and the wickets shared around.

Probably best gloss over the 2nds who lost to Kew, but Chris Royals did top score with 6 which probably says it all!

So to the final weekend with all to play for over at Buckingham Cricket Club - would be great to see lots of supporters there - the game starts at 11 o clock and the address is Bourton Rd, Buckingham MK18 1BG
