I want to offer a big thank you to everyone who has supported my son, Jason Rance and his friends in their fund raising campaign on behalf of Jason's girlfriend, Sadie France which culminated in a fantastic day out on Saturday at the 'Nuts Challenge' event. They have raised an incredible £13,000!
Many members, family and friends of the cricket club have been so generous in their support by either participating, supporting on the day or by contributing financially to this fund rasing event, both Jason and of course Sadie are extremely grateful.
On the 31th May, myself and my very good friend, Graham Poll (former professional football referee and current Daily Mail columnist), will be ignoring the fact that we have both reached the age where we are old enough to know better, by embarking on what is perceived to be the ‘ultimate cycling challenge’.
We will be cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats, (some 1000 miles in just 14-days at an average of 70+ miles per day).
So why are we putting ourselves through such an ordeal?
Many of you are aware that in September of last year, Sadie received some devastating news. She was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer; she is only 23 years old!
Sadie was referred to the Royal Marsden Hospital who has been responsible for her treatment, which involved a major operation together with an extensive and gruelling programme of Chemotherapy which remains on-going.
The Royal Marsden Hospital is at the forefront of cancer care and research. Every penny we raise will go directly to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity to support their pioneering work which ultimately continues to give hope to Sadie and many other cancer patients.

Any money that you feel you are able to donate will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
