Clubhouse update from the Chairman – April 2014
As the recent good weather has reminded us all, the new season is only just around the corner. We are not quite ready for it yet. We require your help to get us there.
As you all know, we have been exceptionally fortunate to receive large amounts of grant aid support towards the project. However, the onus is now on us as club members to come up with creative ways of raisingapproximately another £20,000 in order toallow us to finish the project.
The key items that we still need to fund before the start of the season are:
-
Function room flooring - This is essential before we can start to let out the building for functions and therefore get the building to start paying for itself.
-
Kitchenette/food preparation area – This will allow teas to be prepared for matches and will include a sink area, dishwasherand fridge.
-
Cutlery and kitchen equipment - All our original utensils were destroyed in the old pavilion.
-
Floor cleaning machine - To maintain floors properly: in the lounge bar, inside changing rooms, toilets and corridor, the function room floor and the veranda.
Ways you can help:
-
Direct donations
The club now has a high-quality building, and need to ensure the internal fit-out is of a comparable standard. We will be able to hold regular club social gatherings and to start to take bookings for events.
-
Join the Patrons Scheme
We launched the Patrons scheme last July, offering members the chance to buy ‘life membership’ in exchange for a donation towards the pavilion fund. Later this year we will be putting up a Patrons’ board commemorating the generous donations of the members. With annual subscriptions due in the next few months, now is an excellent time for people to consider this. Family deals are also available andthe scheme offers excellent value for members. Please contact me directly so that I can explain the scheme in more detail: jonathan.royals@cgcapitaluk.com or 07795182619.

Easyfundraising.org.uk
Shop online to raise money for Chesham Cricket Club!We can receive money simply from our supporters shopping online through good cause shopping website easyfundraising.org.uk. The club earns the cash donations when people register to support us and shop online through the site. It's a really simple process, all you have to do is:
-
Register at www.easyfundraising.org.uk
-
When you're asked to choose your cause, select Chesham Cricket Club.
-
Get shopping - it couldn't be easier!
There are over 2,700 online retailers available, including Amazon, John Lewis, eBay and Tesco and all will give a small percentage of what's been spent back to Chesham Cricket Club to say thank you for shopping with them. Spread the word to family and friends to let them know how easy it is.

Advertising boards
We have a limited number of sites available for new perimeter advertising banners at the ground, to be sited on the boundary fence, and will be in ideal positions to be seen from the Pavilion and the main spectator areas, as well as being prominent in the background for newspaper photographs. For just £300 (ex vat) we will make and site a new advertising banner for you for the 2014 season. Also, as a “thank you” to organisations who support the Club now, the cost to retain your banner for the 2015 season is guaranteed to be capped at £150 (ex vat) - so this would be the maximum we would charge you for the 2015 season even if the Club was charging higher rates by then.Advertising spaces are limited and the season is fast-approaching, so if you would like your business to become a sponsor at the new-look Chesham Cricket Club, please reply to Stuart Watson on stuartw63@hotmail.co.uk
We can be creative here – if people want a trade or barter deal e.g. an advertising banner in return for a coffee machine or microwave or dishwasher or white paint for the advertising boards – then Stuart would be happy to discuss this with you.

Be creative!
Last year, we had Barney and Jack undertaking a sponsored bike ride from Portsmouth to Chesham to raise money for the club, Chris selling club ties and Umar donating money from Ahead Tuition. What might you, your family, your team or your employer do to raise money for the club this year?
