Match report It was the Matt Rance show at The Meadow on Saturday as the 2012 player of the season carried his form into Division 1 as Chesham recorded their first 25 point win of the season over Henley's second string.
Before tea, Rance led the way with a majestic innings of 123, not offering a chance as he dispatched a good bowling attack to all corners of the ground, capping a fine innings by dispatching a short ball for a massive six to bring up his ton. Though his dismissal precipitated something of a collapse, 249 was more than enough.
Nemi Odhiambo made the early inroads into the Henley batting lineup before Rance, seemingly not content with the value he'd gotten for his match fee already, then took over to run through the middle order. The return of Odhiambo against the Henley tail was a mismatch and before 40 overs the game was up.
The result takes Chesham to fourth place ahead of an encounter with High Wycombe and some familiar faces next Saturday.
