Match report Winning the toss and batting first, Chesham made a solid start with a 50 partnership between Matt Watson and Ed Turner. Watson fell for 27 and Mo Asuaf continued accumulating with 24, made either side of a rain break. Turner moved to his second fifty in 3 matches and was helped by Graham Rance in the latter overs as Chesham posted 141 off their allotted 40 overs.
Steve Ayres made an early breakthrough, with Taylor playing on for 6. Despite a good spell from Jamie Anderson, Odell (27) and Thatcher (50) took control of the game with a match winning partnership. Sam Rance and Kevin Heffernan led a fightback for Chesham, with 4 wickets falling as the run rate ground to halt. However, it was too little too late as Thompson and Pritchard saw Buckingham home for a 5 wicket victory. Credit must go to Phil John for a good performance with the gloves, with no byes conceded and one excellent catch off Kevin. 2 wins out of 3 for Chesham in pre season, as we look forward to the TVL starting next week.
