Buckingham Town v Chesham Cricket Club Sunday 2nd XI on Sun 02 Jun 2013 at 13:30
Chesham Cricket Club Won by 59 runs

Match report The Sunday 2s wrapped up an unbeaten weekend for the club and continued their own unbeaten streak with a professional 59 run win away at Buckingham.
It was cramped for all of us (bar Mark who went direct and didn't take his own brother) on the long trip north to Bourton Road but with Sunday 2s big guns Morris and Wainwright making their first appearance of the season and Henry White making his team debut, hopes were high of a good day. Hopes were less high for winning the toss as useless tosser Royals once again called heads and once again it came down as tails. Buckingham took the slightly bizarre decision to bowl first on a good track and Royals took the more than slightly bizarre decision to let Woodward open the batting.
Unsurprisingly there was a wicket early on, but to the shock of all (including the not out batsman) it was MVP returning to the pavilion as Woodward dug in and hit a very decent 27, doing exactly the job he was needed to do at the top. Henry White hit a rapid 43 but wickets fell at regular intervals despite some decent batting. It was left to Watson and Royals to get Chesham to a good score and they did so, putting on 55 for the 8th wicket. To the surprise of no one Royals got out the ball after being bounced, deciding it was far less pleasurable than facing the previous bowler - a 12 year old medium pacer.
189 was the target for Buckingham after a very good tea and they got off to a good start. The skipper decided early it was a spinning wicket and despite this brought himself on first change. The runs dried up for Buckingham against spin as Henry Morris was brought on, joined by Henry White soon after. A few wickets fell and the game was in the balance when history was made.
When Neville Pritchard nicked off to a sharp catch by Ed Wainwright, few could have predicted what would follow. A Bucks Academy player was coming to the crease and he'd looked very sharp earlier with both the ball and in the field. Morris looped the ball up above the eye line, the batsman's eyes lit up like Ben in front of the Santhi's buffet trays and he unleashed a wild swing at the slow moving ball, only for it to loop into Wainwright's gloves. For a hattrick and a fivefer the field closed in as a youngster came to the crease.
To the wicket strode Morris.
The ball hit the pitch and went straight on.
The batsman tried to cut it.
He misses.
Down go the bails.
By the time they hit the floor Henry Morris has bowled himself into the annals of the history of the world. The first ever Sunday 2s hattrick and the game was up. The rest of the match had a bit of an after the Lord Mayor's Show feel to it, despite good bowling from George Holden. The game ended on a farcical note as James White claimed an LBW but that was all secondary to the incredible scenes of half an hour earlier. I was there, on June 2nd 2013, when Henry Morris took a hattrick and a fivefer.

We sit pretty at 4 from 4 going into the Chess Valley League matches, which start next week. We take the trip to Long Marston and personally, I cannot wait. Maintain this level of excitement and anticipation until 13:30 next Sunday gentlemen.
