Eastcote 2nd XI v Chesham Cricket Club Sunday 2nd XI on Sun 03 Aug 2014 at 13:00
Chesham Cricket Club Won by 195 runs

Match report The Sunday 2s made it 3 league wins in as many games with a mammoth 195 run victory over Eastcote.
The much anticipated road trip nearly ended abruptly as James White very nearly crashed on Amersham Road and after following all sorts of diversions and Chris Royals shortcuts the side arrived conveniently close to the start time at Eastcote.
After the news was delivered that we would be batting first on a road James White and Ben Woodward, confident that they wouldn't be needed at the top of the order despite the conspicuous absence of the H-Ds, for once travelling together, disappeared off for a romantic Subway lunch date.
They missed out on a display of stand and deliver power hitting from Guy "Boris" Fowler as he brought up his 50 in the 9th over. Despite the loss of Karan, gone paddle sweeping a full toss to the keeper the carnage continued as Guy dominated the attack before sadly falling for 73. David H-D continued the good work with some powerful hitting, reaching a maiden century for the club in short order which his brother refused to congratulate because he turned down a run the ball before. Such a cute pair.
A massive TFC for Goodman followed but then the rest of us piled in as the pavilion conversation took an intelligent turn with a discussion of the Gaza crisis before Woodward ruined it and we reached 355 off our 45 overs before taking a cracking tea that we promptly demolished, confident of victory despite captain Chris Royals' mid game realisation that he hadn't picked a keeper "I picked the team when I was drunk" (Royals, 2014).
With all of us very, very full and no one really fancying fielding for too long it was nice of the Eastcote opener to hit an utterly pants half tracker from Mikey straight to Karan and after Chris Royals took a wicket in front of the adoring Sky Sports News cameras Eastcote were in all sorts of trouble. This got worse the next over when Mikey bowled the new bat and had no idea he'd done it, prompting wild laughter on the pitch. From 14-4 Eastcote recovered with a good partnership but Abhiraj in particular was very unlucky not to pick up a couple of wickets.
The partnership breaker was, inexplicably, once again James White who picked up 2 wickets clean bowled. How does he manage it?
Mikey returned and cleaned up the tail for a well deserved fivefer and make it a second two jug Sunday of the year to everyone's delight.
Post match the two jugs were enjoyed before we waited 4 hours for an admittedly very good curry back at the club. A genuinely top day out with the Sunday 2s and is the promotion charge now on? Imagine the #scenes...

MoM - James White (22*, 2fer, actually took a catch) nominated - David H-D for scoring 120
TFC - Goodman
