Wonderful Win for 1sts, other teams just miss out

Weekend 11th August

Chesham hosted promotion rivals Datchet on Saturday. With Overnight rain leaving the meadow damp, Datchet won the toss and elected to field first.

Chesham top order batted around a patient innings from youngster Dominic Goodman 62 and was well supported by Mark Eteen 34, Jason Rance  and Nouman Aslam 21 whose late partnership of 28 with Goodman pushed Chesham over the line to 210 all out with 4 balls of the innings remaining.

Chesham came out of the blocks quickly with good opening spells from Matt Warner 1-37 and Ash Turney 1-37. A brilliant spell from Samiullah Sajid 2-27 had Datchet in trouble at 59/4 and well behind the rate and that was before spin came into the attack.

Enter Matt Rance 1-38 and another 5 wicket haul for Nouman Aslam 5-37  had Datchet in all sorts of trouble. Datchet nearly snatched the win with a 36 run partnership until Lambert was adjudged lbw to Sajid to give Chesham a win by 20 runs. With 3 games to go Chesham very much in the promotion mix.

In Division 2A Chesham 2s travelled to Windsor. Windsor won the toss and elected to bat. Chesham bowled Windsor out for 225 with David Hughes-D’Aeth taking 3-76. Chesham were bowled out for 184 with Todd Bamber top scoring with 28 losing the game by 41 runs. With 3 games to go every match is now crucial to avoid relegation.

In Division 5A Chesham 3s hosted Chalfont St Peter. Chesham won the toss and elected to bat Chesham scored an competitive 182 for 6 off 45 overs Ben Marote scored 66 * Chalfont scored 161 for 4 off 36 overs with rain in the air and not being able to continue the game finished early with Chalfont winning on Duckworth Lewis by 6 wickets with Mark Hall taking 2-26

In Divison 8B Chesham 4 travelled to NPL 2. Chesham won the toss and chose to bowl. NPL scored 191/8 off 40 overs with Mudassar Latif taking 4-32. Chesham finished on 168/6 off 40 overs with Mudassar Latif scoring 38* Chesham losing the game by 23 runs.
