TVL Week 2 Results

20 May 2015

Week 2 was overall a pretty good week (and rather unusual!) for the club.

The 1st team recovered from a parlous 55 for 5 to reach 292 for 6 with a magnificent century from Jason Rance well supported by Jack McCiver with 69.
In reply Falkland end up 9 down and well short of their target thanks to fine bowling from Babula, Rance and McCiver. A shme to just miss out on a 25 point win byt from 55 for 5 we would have settled for 14 points!

The 2nd team's fine start to the season continued. After being dismissed cheaply by Tring Park, with Jack Gibbins  (40) being the only really significant contributor it appeared likely we could be on the wrong end of things. However, Anderson, Clifford and Aslam had different ideas and bowled Tring Park out for just 64 to win by 66 runs and after 2 games they head division 2.

The 3rd team also had a poor day with the bat and could muster only 122, but this proved more than enough thanks largely to 6 wickets from Steve Ayres as Chesham won by 60 runs.

The 4th team again bowled well, dismissing Ruislip for 120 but in reply the batting failed and we lost convincingly.

Some big games for all the teams this week and the 1st three teams look to build on their positions in the top part of the league, whilst the 4ths will be looking for a win to kick start their season and help push them up the table.
